BOOKINGS FOR THIS WALK WILL OPEN ON JUNE 9, 2013

Continuing our series of Sunday afternoon 'Walk & Wine', we'll meet at the Greenmount Surf Club (also known as the Tweed Heads & Coolangatta Surf Club) and head off along the beachfront up to Kirra. Drinks afterwards will be back at the Greenmount Surf Club.

THE WALK We'll walk along the Oceanway path, although you are more than welcome to walk along the beach if you would prefer. I thought we'd aim for the end of Pacific Parade at Kirra but feel free to turn back if you find it a little too far.

ORGANISER Barry Baker - 0407 636 280. Please make sure your RSVP is up to date the night before and text Barry on the day if you find you can't make it at the last minute so the group does not have to wait around unnecessarily.

NEW MEMBERS WELCOME! If you haven't been to one of our events before, our monthly Walk & Wine is a great way to get a feel for what we're all about and to meet some new people. We've set ourselves the goal of walking the Gold Coast Oceanway this year - a 36-km track that extends from Pt Danger on the NSW/Qld border up to the Southport Spit. Each month, we'll do a short section on a Sunday afternoon, followed by coffee or drinks at the nearest watering hole. This is purely a social event and we take it at a very leisurely pace so fitness is not an issue. Look forward to seeing you there!

WHAT TO BRING: Water, hat, sunscreen, comfortable shoes. Photo ID is required for entry to our surf lifesaving clubs so please make sure you bring your driver's licence or similar.

COST: We'll pass around the hat again for a $1 contribution to cover our registration on the Meetup website which is around $190 per year. We are a strictly non-profit organisation and any additional funds in the kitty are donated to the Springbrook SES each year.

OUR PERSONAL RESPONSIBILITY PHILOSOPHY: We are not a formal organisation or association and take no responsibility for any mishaps that may occur as a result of our activities. As such, it is up to each individual to make sure they are capable of attempting this track.
