New Meetup: EFN - Basket of Hope volunteering

Announcing a new Meetup for Good Deeds Society!

What: EFN - Basket of Hope volunteering

When: Saturday, November 20,[masked]:00 AM

Where: Emergency Food Shelf Network
[masked]th Ave North
New Hope, MN 55428

In 2009, with the help of EFN?s volunteers, Baskets of Hope distributed 5,060 packages serving 35,420 individuals in need. In 2010 we are looking to serve another 5,000 families.

We are looking for committed volunteers to help distribute packages on the days of November 18-20 and December 16-18. This volunteer activity is great for individuals, co-workers, friends and family! On the Thursday shifts, we are looking for volunteers to serve from 3pm-7:30pm; on the Friday shifts, we are looking for volunteers from 9am-2pm and 1:30pm-6:30pm; Saturday shifts from 9am-1pm and 12:30pm-5pm. It is important for each volunteer to be committed to his/her shift in order for the distribution to run smooth. All volunteers must be signed up three days prior to his/her distribution date. Your volunteer duty will be assigned upon arrival for your shift. It is important that you are prompt on your arrival time, allowing time to park and walk in. We will have a large group welcome and orientation on EFN?s mission and programs, and then bring everyone to their duties for their shift. A confirmation e-mail will be sent back to you informing that you are on our volunteer list. If you are volunteering with a large group, carpooling is great in order to provide more room for the BOH clients. EFN will provide water, coffee, snacks and a meal for each volunteer shift. We look forward to working with you to distribute holiday food packages and are glad to count on volunteers like you!
