Re: [Grateful-Dead-Jam] Searching for that certain sound

Thanks for the kind words Ted.  We all (the current crop pf players) started out fully intending to just have some fun - then we thought why not gig?  So we are.  It's been a lot of fun.  Not w/o it's own set of hassles as well but thats somewhat to be expected.  I came to a meetup quite a while back and while I enjoyed it the travel, whether by car or train, has been somewhat of a disincentive.  Parking is too expensive and I'm not a fan of bringing my gear on the train - at this point anyway.  I'm in Port Chester.

So you don't even gig downtown?  I'm the 'jerry guy' in our band and have been mulling over side projects for a while - want to at some point get a JGB style cover going (I've really been concentrating on JGB material lately) - and I'm also open to acoustic configurations both Dead and Jerry.  Did a gig in Rye with the female singer in our band a while back, just me on acoustic and the 2 of us singing - first time i did anything like that - no place to hide your screwups!  It was a bit liberating and scary all at once.  Here's a clip from that - the recording was a bit hot so I haven't made it public.

Anyway I'd like to get down a meetup again one of these days.  Thanks again for the kind words!

Hi Bill,

As a former Dead Head and still playing Weir-style rhythm guitar and singing, you guys sound great. Really capture the essence of The Dead. Unfortunately, I'm in NYC; without a car and still working on material with fellow Heads more for fun than any professional aspirations. Just keep it up and best of luck with your search.
Ted
