Rock Con

  • Oct 25, 2013 · 6:00 PM

Rock-Con is THE annual regional gaming convention for players in Rockford, IL and the surrounding area. This year we welcome you to celebrate Rock-Con’s 40th anniversary October 25th-27th 2013! The convention features historical and fantasy miniature gaming, collectible miniatures, role playing, collectible card and board gaming events covering the entire spectrum of adventure gaming.

The Rockford Pathfinder Society is making its second appearance at Rock-Con this year. We plan to have activities all weekend long, for all age groups and player experience levels. From the Pathfinder Beginner Box demos to Pathfinder Society Organized play scenarios and sanctioned modules, we'll have many ways for you to get involved in the exciting world of the Pathfinder RPG.

The Beginner Box Set is an ideal way to introduce younger players to the Pathfinder RPG. Mini-adventures last about an hour, so they could try one or two, or stay for an entire timeslot and try to play several. The rules are simplified, and everything you need to play comes in one box.

For those more familiar with Pathfinder Society Organized Play, we have several scenarios to choose from, with choices available for several different tiers of experience levels (1-5, 3-7, 5-9). Many of these have been released in the last year, and others are player favorites from prior seasons. We will also have a Special scenario Friday night (levels 1-11), where several tables can cooperate to complete the adventure.

Our Sunday lineup will focus on sanctioned modules and will have options for levels 1-2 thru 5-7. These generally last longer than a scenario, so you can play the same adventure all day. We also will offer some shorter modules. We Be Goblins! and We Be Goblins Too! allow you to play pre-generated goblin characters in shorter adventures, and the credit can be applied to a PFS character of comparable level.

Well I was able to go for a short time yesterday. While I was there I saw Jillian and Keith, Duane, Ryan, Kris and Jess, Dick of course, and a few others. So another great showing from our group.
