Demolition Man by Robert Tine

A cop and villian are frozen in a cryogenic prison. Years into the future, Earth is a bland and pleasant place where people are fined for swearing. It's run by a despot, but nobody realizes it. It is into this green, clean, world that Spartan and Phoenix are awakened to resume their former roles.

Look, maybe it's the fact that I got a steak sandwich and a beer, but I think this was the greatest meetup ever in this book club. Please join my new meetup group: Pub Crawls and Pet Shops--a group for enthusiasts of drinking and maybe petting a cat--which I'll register on the site sometime soon.

I beg you to start that group, DJ. Just to see who joins will be well worth the money, right?

There would need to be a pet shop that was open late, at least 11pm. There are logistical problems with the premise of that club!

I loaned out a copy of Demolition Man! I've got one left if you want a dude to personally deliver you some 90's fiction speculating about life in the 2030's! Any takers?

Oh my gosh! This is the first time Ive seen any response to my book request! I'm so sorry, but yes, please loan the book to someone else since I've been so "flaky" so so sorry for not responding sooner.

Weird. Maybe your spam filter eats Meetup.com emails?

Can't find this book and it's too late to order online.

Hey, if anybody wants a copy of Demolition Man, but doesn't want it showing up on their purchase history on Amazon or whatever, I actually have two extra copies, and could meet up somewhere to give you one. Originally I'd meant to bring them to the Salt meetup, and be like, "Hey hey if you think you're coming..." But now they are just sitting around, and if owning a copy of the novelization of Demolition Man is a weird possession to have in your place, having a small collection of Demolition Man novels is just crazy.

Maybe the novelization will finally clear up the three seashells thing.
