Wednesday After Work Walk: South Shore Trailhead
Meet your fellow Adventurers! Get some fresh air and exercise mid-week! It sounds like we are BACK TO FALL WEATHER this week! Let's head out to the east end, where the dirt trails start - see directions under "How to find us." It is SO PRETTY out there in the Fall afternoon light. We will be off-pavement, and you should wear shoes with a little support, like running or trail shoes. We'll walk as least as far as the bridge over the coulee, about 2 miles round-trip. Wear a good jacket, and bring a hat and maybe gloves - it it's breezy, it'll be a cold breeze. You say you're still at work at 4:30? For heaven's sake, PLAY HOOKIE - we aren't getting much more weather like this. See you there!! Every Wednesday at 4:30, there will be a stroll along the Missouri River in Great Falls, on the River's Edge Trail. Walks will usually be about a mile, up to 2 miles in length. We will wander a different section of trail each week. Always check back to see where the week's walk will start. There is over 15 miles of paved trail, so we won't get bored with it! We may explore the dirt trail at the east end occasionally as well. Dogs are welcome on a leash, although occasionally we may ask for dogs to stay home for that week. And for those so inclined, there will usually be an optional get-together at a local eating establishment, after the walk.

What we're about

The Great Falls Adventurers is a bunch of motivated individuals who want to get together with other outdoor minded folks to share hiking, backpacking, canyoneering, dog walks, outdoor film festivals, photography, road and mountain biking, rafting, canoeing, kayaking; and, in season, skiing, snowboarding, snowshoeing, winter camping (or huts), outdoor ice skating and so much more. Including getting more exercise so we can enjoy more outdoor adventures!

You are encouraged to BE ACTIVE in the group. MeetUps are about just that, actively meeting up with others with shared interests.

Many of our activities will give you the chance to learn something new. You say you’ve always wanted to learn about snowshoeing? Want to backpack but need support for that first backcountry hike? Others in the group will be thrilled to help you get started. New to the area and want to know where to go in our great outdoors? This group is DEFINITELY for you! These events are a great way to get out and interact with new friends. If you have a suggestion, feel free to contact an Organizer.

Get Involved!

We need Assistant Organizers and Event Hosts! If you don't see your preferred activity listed under the scheduled meetups, please consider the idea of hosting your own. Just contact the group organizer (Elaina) to get started! You just put it on the calendar - you might be surprised just how many people are looking to do the same activity that you are.
