"Hike for James Nelson" Thank You

From: Trinda

A BIG THANK YOU from Chicago Suburban Packers!

The "Hike for James Nelson" collected NINE HUNDRED SIXTY-THREE DOLLARS ($963) to support the Larimer County Search & Rescue outfit. James' father lives in Larimer County, & several people in this all-volunteer group know him personally, so this search was a special endeavor for them. This donation will be made on behalf of those Larimer County SAR members, in honor of James.

This morning was the official opening of the collection envelopes and counting the donations, conducted by CSB Meetup Organizer David and member Trinda. There was $350 in donation checks and the cash donations of $613 were converted to a single check made out to Larimer County SAR.

Thanks to all those who participated in the October 30, 2010 hike and made donations.

The next fundraiser activity will be a dinner with donation to support Vail Mountain Search and Rescue. Their outfit helped the Eagle County Sheriff's Office coordinate the original search. We're hoping to schedule this sometime in December or January. We'll keep the interested meetup groups posted. Please consider attending and helping the all-volunteer Vail Mountain SAR group.

Again, thanks to all who participated!

James' sister, Christy, in orange, and mom, Cathy, in gray, also attended the hike.
