What we're about

Welcome!

You have made the important first step in meeting a group of people who share many of the same feelings that you are experiencing right now. We are modeled on the North Shore Divorced and Separated Group.

The members have diverse backgrounds. This includes a wide range of professions, trades, economic and religious backgrounds. Over time, feedback from the people that join our group has been that they find comfort in meeting others who know what the divorce/separated experience is all about. Each meeting, the group is facilitated by nonprofessionals. It is important that you know that we are simply a group of concerned people helping people. Tremendous bonds of friendship have been forged and continue beyond the scope of the group. The comfort that you will find in this group has helped hundreds of people over the years and is a testimony to the longevity of the group. You be the judge...we invite you to attend our next meeting. Everyone that attends our meetings, understands what is said in the meeting, stays in the meeting. Confidentiality is respected and you are encouraged to speak on your own terms and when you are ready. Meetings generally last approximately two hours.

There are social opportunities that take place in addition to our meetings, if you choose to participate. The comment is often made that people wish they had found this group sooner. Several members who at one time were going through the divorce process continue to stay active in the group because they feel that they have something to share with others who are going through this phase in their life. We hope you will join us, and know what types of activities you would like to see.

We are concerned about your safety and privacy. The settings are designed so that group events and members are only seen by people inside the group. We require a face picture for your safety and the safety of our other members.

Many thanks to the people of the North Shore Separated and Divorced Meetup for their help in setting this up, and for creating such a great model of a support group.
