Talk Bees...

There is no fee for this class -

Whenever I have a class, there are questions about honeybees and beeswax and what to do about the devastating losses that continue to plaque all of our pollinators. This gathering is to talk bees and more. Benefits of honey and beeswax, collecting honey and rendering beeswax, resources, what to do about swarms - and how to help create a Bee Safe Neighborhood where you live. We will have brochures, lists of the most toxic chemicals to watch out for, and sign up sheets to enlist your neighbors to Bee Safe. As a side benefit :) it is also safer for our children, our pets, our birds, our water - and ourselves.
If you can = a $5 or $10 donation to cover printing, handouts and possibly to order small yard signs to state our intention to create Bee Safe Neighborhoods!

Between the time change and the gorgeous weather - a light turnout but I will do again - the honeybees are foraging like crazy right now and building up numbers so let's hope for a mild spring or make sure your girls have plenty of honey stored - I started feeding mine this morning to help them hold on to what they have.

Peggy, Sorry I missed today. I always have bees early in spring but they disappear after the late frost. How can I help them survive into the summer?

We are going to gather again on Thursday evening. Hope you can make it - planting a variety of trees and flowers that are bee friendly is one way - another is to make sure that your neighbors know what chemicals are particularly dangerous for our pollinators and how to reduce their risk of exposure. Thanks for helping to watch out for them. Peggy

Please note - my house is the last house on 12th Ave off of So. Golden Rd - they are doing construction - you can get through but they are having detours some of the time - you can come by 6th Ave - go west to Ulysses St. - go North to 12th Ave - go east to last house on the right!!
