  • Mar 29, 2014 · 9:00 AM
  • Rich M.s Home

You can take home a 2 pound wheel of home-made cheddar cheese. Please join us for a fun filled Saturday and Wednesday evening.
Lunch will be served including fresh cheese made by the class that day.
Wednesday is just Waxing, so 15 to 30 minutes is all that is needed. Charge is $40 enroll at

or email Rich [masked] .

A home chess press is required to make this cheese and you need to bring it with you on Sunday. (Making hard cheese requires the use of mechanically applied pressure to extract a high level of moisture) You may come and participate without taking any cheese home if you don’t have a press. Press kits $100, completed 150. Deadline for ordering presses is[masked]
Please email questions to [masked].

Instructions , diagrams , materials list and set by step instructions for building your own cheese press can be found at no cost in :
Rich’s Big Cheesy book

Also required is a cave, ( a refrigerator set to 50 to 55 degrees F) to age cheddar for at least 3 months. A dorm fridge from Craigslist should not cost more than $25. You can rent space in Rich's cave for $5 a year
Instructor will supply all other materials

Class Dates: March 29, 2014, 9:00am to 5:00pm April 2, 2014, 6:00pm to 8:00om

Kids ? I assume you mean children, humans not goats. (LOL) Depends on age and personality. My house is by no means kid proof. There is a lot of waiting in the process. I have had kids do just fine because they were 11-18 and really wanted to learn to make cheese. call me if you have questions[masked] Rich

Beyond needing a press and a cave, is there a fee for this meetup?
