Announcing a new Meetup for Greater Denver Urban Homesteading Group!

What: Predator-Proof Chickens and Vermicomposting (+ Potluck!)

When: Sunday, August 22,[masked]:00 PM

Where: Alyssa's Homestead
3490 Otis St
Wheat Ridge, CO 80033

Sunday, August 22. 1PM - 4PM. Hang out with the chickens and ducks and check out the predator-proof chicken coop and run (sized for appx 12 chickens and cost <$200 with mostly salvaged materials). Previous fox (and other predator) experience tales and lessons will be shared. Baby ducks! (Bring the kids!)

Concord grapes should be ripe. Also nine other kinds of locally-grown fruit plants (including natives) in addition to the vegetable and herb gardens.

Vermicomposting (worm composting) demonstration. Please bring non-spicy, non-citrus, compost greens if you happen to have some on hand. (That means any garden or kitchen scraps that are not onion, garlic, citrus, or spicy - maybe the trimmings from your pot luck salad? :-)
