Glen Onoko Falls hike to Oxbow Bend

On this hike we'll climb parallel to the Glen Onoko Falls, stopping at different points to take in the views. This will be the most challenging part of the hike. Use of both hands and upper body will be required for the climb.

We'll then hike to the first vista (which to be honest is a little disappointing). Then head out to the second vista (which is well worth the trip). We'll then continue to Oxbow Bend for hopefully another great view (I've never been before).

We'll retrace our steps passing each vista once again, and then start our decent down the never ending "stairs", returning to the parking lot.

Bring a lunch and plenty of water. Since the initial climb is challenging, you may want to consider bringing more water than that of a normal hike.

The hike in total is ~6 miles, and how long it takes us will depend on whether or not we can pull ourselves away from the views.

The meeting place will be the Trail head warning sign (just down the stairs from the parking lot, under the wood plank bridge).

If I can figure out how to attach some instructional images I will do so.
Heavy Rain will cancel - stay tuned...

Sorry I have to skip this hike. I've been fighting a cold all week and had hoped for a quicker recover.

Hey Scott, as you said the weather seems to have turned in our favor. When do you make the "final" call (in case the forecast changes again)?

      I'll be there:)

Yes, I'll have my celly with me. [masked] that's correct, 310, not a typo :0) i know there are a couple left turns in just getting to the parking lot that i always miss and have to turn around and go back. it can be a little tricky, so feel free to call if you need anything.

Hey guys! As far as I'm concerned, we should be good to go for the hike tomorrow. Two out of three sites are showing a low chance or rain. So if you're willing to come out and take the risk, I'll be there ready to go.

I just wish I could be a weather man... wrong 50% of the time and still have a good paying job.

    See you tomorrow morning!

There's never been a better time, and the weather is turning in our favor... we went from 60% chance of a thunderstorm to only 20% chance if rain.
