What do you currently do to reduce your impact? Have you taken any of the NYC training courses we list in our Pages section? If you are a "Green Entrepreneur", you are welcome to add your business to our list in the Pages section.

The NYC Compost Project in the Bronx provides educational and outreach events for anyone interested in the composting of garden trimmings and kitchen scraps as an essential horticultural and waste management practice that benefits the environment. For composting advice and class schedules, please call the Compost Helpline at[masked] or visit

What do you hope to do in the future?

Street trees need love, too! Many forget that the (you pick: bike rack; garbage post; litter box) outside of their building is a living organism that needs attention. I would like to help teach folks that even apartment dwellers can compost to provide nutrients for these often neglected trees!

Please give us one suggestion for a future meet up event!

In which borough do you live? (So we branch out into everyone's communities)

The Bronx

We have FREE vermicompost worms to donate under our "Pay It Forward" program! Interested in setting up a compost bin? See our Pages section for instructions.

Absolutely. Have several bins in the office as well as teach folks in the community how to make and manage their own.
