What we're about

This group is for anyone interested in reading and getting to know new people. We will read a wide variety of books and discuss them over dinner. Meetings will be held once a month at a variety of restaurants so we can enjoy good discussion and food together. Everyone is invited.

We started this group because the other book clubs in the area are either very specific about the people that can join/genres read or the number of people that can attend a meeting is limited. We want everyone to be able to join in on the fun. If our numbers become too large, we will open new meeting times and people will have an opportunity to choose which gatherings to attend.

There is a $12 annual fee for this group to cover Meetup Administration fees with a trial period of 90 days for new members. We're taking January off to catch our breath after the holiday season and we will resume in February. See you then!!

Holiday Party!

Green Joe's Coffee Company

The Holidays are right around the corner! Before December gets busy, let's meet up for coffee and discuss what books we've been reading and vote on books for next year. Please bring a wrapped book if you would like to participate in a White Elephant Gift Exchange.

Rules of the gift exchange:
1. If possible, pick a book that you have already read and liked.
2. You don't have to spend a lot of money! Perfectly acceptable to grab something from your give away pile or something from a 2nd hand shop.
3. Make sure the book is wrapped.

NOTE: We'll be taking January off and the next meeting will be in February. Enjoy your holiday season and see you in the new year!

Do you love Pride & Prejudice?
Have you never read Pride & Prejudice?
Have you tried to read Pride & Prejudice and not understood a single word?

If you answered YES to any of these questions, let's meet up to watch this adaptation at the Triad Stage!

There is also a discussion afterwards with a noted expert who will provide an in-depth look at the play.

By Kate Hamill, based on the novel by Jane Austen

Shake off the mothballs, this isn’t your grandmother’s Jane Austen. In a world of ball gowns and palatial estates, Mrs. Bennett schemes to find suitable husbands for her daughters, but Elizabeth isn’t so sure – at least not when it comes to the impossible Mr. Darcy. Dance into a world of mixed-up lovers in this irreverent adaptation of the classic romance.
