Mindful Writing Workshop on The Highline

In this writing workshop we’ll dive into our sense perceptions, explore the environment, and experiment with mindfulness exercises to open up our writing to the richness of our surroundings. Writing will be shared aloud in a collaborative, supportive atmosphere. Please bring a notebook and something to write with.

Our online platform aims to promote community-based development by providing an online platform for community events and projects promoting creativity and sustainability. We hope that participants use the information, skills and resources obtained from our online forum and our offline events, and are inspired to start their own projects and help to make New York a more sustainable city.

Hi all, here is the spontaneous group poem we wrote on the Highline:

All I can think about is flying
    People watching is my passion
    Drinking in the happiness
The apartment-dwellers are watching and watched
Little blue flowers draped behind a crowd of tourists
    Fuzzy meticulous bees
A breeze, glass windows, and a spacious city
    The thicket hides the buildings
And it's almost like the beach
