How can we reduce Fear in Society?

Fear!  Fear!  FEAR!  The media profits from it, the powerful control us with it, governments thrive on it.  And study after study show that most of our fears are indeed irrational.

Why, in this enlightened age with more real knowledge than ever before, more accessible, and with more understanding ... are we still so susceptible to fear?  It is almost as if we crave it. How can we reduce the amount of fear in society?

If you want to get rich, tell people the world is ending.  No one got wealthy saying "Everything's going to be great!!"
