For Yogi's of all stages! In Sanskrit, Yoga means "Union". That is exactly what this group is all about, bringing people together. Whether you are curious and want to try yoga for the first time or want to create a consistent practice this is the place to get your feet wet! One can expect to build lean muscle, loose weight, increase energy, sleep better, and have peace of mind. Currently Offering Free Beginners Yoga: Anyone who wants to try Yoga is welcome to this class. It will be an intro to yoga style class lasting 45 minutes. Basic poses and breathing techniques will be taught and demonstrated. Bring your own mat as there will be few available. This class is free but donations are gratefully accepted to keep improving the classes and to help pay for meet-up group fees.
This group is fairly new so until I can source out a rotation of Yoga instructors you can expect Me, the Organizer, Courtney Dodge to be teaching the beginner classes. I am a Certified Holistic Health Coach with the Institute for Integrative Nutrition out of NY, NY. I also hold a degree in Animal Science from Louisiana State University. I have focused on yoga as a daily practice of mine for over 8 years and have helped others find their way to Yoga, health, and happiness by being an example. I also practice Ayurvedic medicine in conjunction with my yoga practice and holistic lifestyle. I hold the torch for those looking to bring health and healing into their life through alternative therapies such as Yoga, Ayurvedic medicine, Reiki, Sound Therapy, and other healing therapies.
