Learn How to Manage Your Stress with Yoga and Meditation Practices!

  • Life is busy and stressful! Managing our stress is an important part in managing our diabetes, but it isn't easy to do.  In this hands-on workshop, Elisabeth Schramm will teach us gentle yoga and mindfulness meditation practices, which help with relaxation, managing anxiety, improving sleep, etc.  

    Haven't practiced yoga or meditation before? No problem!  The practices that Elisabeth will show us are appropriate for absolute beginners.  I look forward to seeing you there!

    About Elisabeth Schramm MSW, RSW

    Elisabeth has worked as a social worker for 30 years in both community-based and in-patient mental health programs. She has worked with various client populations, including adolescents, adults, as well as seniors and their families. Elisabeth has provided assistance to individuals dealing with stress, life transitions, depression, anxiety, self esteem, communication, conflict resolution and past trauma. Over the past 5 years, Elisabeth has developed an interest in integrating Mindfulness Meditation with other aspects of therapy, having observed the benefits of bringing mindful awareness and acceptance to our present experiences. Elisabeth is also teaching yoga and meditation. Elisabeth has been described by her clients’ as compassionate, understanding, and caring.

    NOTE:

    When we have guest speakers, we will be holding some of those meetings at 10 Carden (at 10 Carden Street in Guelph, ON.).  There is a cost to me to rent this space; in order to offset those costs I would like to ask those people attending the meetings at 10 Carden to make a small donation of around $5/meeting.  I do not want this to be a barrier, so if you are not able to pay, then please feel free to come.  If you have any questions, please let me know.  If you know of any free meeting space that I could investigate, please let me know!
