What we're about

This Meetup site provides the calendar of events for the Guelph Hiking Trail Club (GHTC). We offer guided hikes in Guelph and the surrounding area, and maintain over 80 km of trails. While most of our hikes and events are free and open to the public, consider supporting the Guelph Hiking Trail Club by becoming a member! Membership fees are $25 annually, and are tax-deductible. Membership fees and donations are used to provide us with liability insurance, newsletter production, and trail maintenance funds. Membership details and additional information about the club can be found on our website:

Before joining our guided hikes please review our hike and trail etiquette ( to help ensure enjoyable hikes for all!

The GHTC is a non-profit, charitable organization administered by a board of directors, elected each year at the annual general meeting. We are a volunteer organization that began in 1970! We aim to stimulate an interest in hiking, establish and maintain trails for hiking, encourage awareness of the natural environment, and promote the conservation of the environment. We organize hikes of varying length throughout the year, and have some cross-country skiing outings in winter months. Members of the club keep in touch through a quarterly newsletter, bi-weekly e-mail updates, fall/winter slide show presentations, and various social activities. Club business is carried out at monthly meetings of the Executive Committee and at an Annual General Meeting in November.
