Before and after you publish you need to get your name out there. You need to get people excited about your book so they’ll buy it. Social media is a great way to do that but it can get confusing. Do you Tweet? Facebook? Pin things? Digg them?
In Social media for the writer we’ll look at the different options out there and demystify them. What’s covered? Explanations of Twitter, Facebook, Google+, Pinterest, Reddit, Digg, LinkedIn, Triberr, GoodReads, Blogs. What are they? How do you use them? Which one is best for you?

Students will receive detailed instructions on setting up Twitter and Facebook. Information will also include Facebook Pages and touch on some of the other social media options out there. We will also be going over lists, hashtags and various tools to make social networking easier.
For Guelph Write Now members I'm offering a $10 discount. The one month class is $15.00 for members.
To sign up go to the register page. The day before class starts I'll send out invites to the Yahoo Group where the class will be held. Lessons will go out through email a few times a week. You can read them and ask questions at your own pace. Students will have access to the loop for a month after class ends as well.
