This month, we have a special event - a guided walk at Brookwood Cemetery, followed by a pub lunch at the White Hart in Pirbright.
This fascinating and famous cemetery, the largest in Britain and one of the largest in Europe, is a must see. The experienced guide, Kim, will tell us about its origins and show us some of the most interesting graves.
Charles Bradlaugh, who founded the National Secular Society and was Britain's first atheist MP, and was the subject of the talk by Deborah Lavin at our meeting last November, is buried in Brookwood Cemetery.
Please note: There is a charge of £5 per person for the tour, all proceeds go to the upkeep of the cemetery. If you'd like to join us for the pub lunch, please do let us know if you can so that we can book a table for the right number of people!
