RED NECK YACHT CLUB

  • This location is shown only to members

AGAIN WE ARE SHARING THIS EVENT WITH MIKE'S BIG D*CK!!! http://www.meetup.com/MikesBigDeck/events/177242692/

5th Annual Red Neck Yacht Club Party on Lake Minneola
...Sponsored by GT Marine

Thanks to Wendy for reminding us of this HUGE boating party on Lake Minneola. Some of You may remember the MBD Crew attending RNYC in 2012 and hang gliding over the virtual island of boats floating in the middle of the lake. This MBD MeetUp event is simply a placeholder for the RNYC 2014 Facebook event sponsored by GT Marine...be sure to join the official Red Neck Yacht Club Facebook event. ( join here )

From the Facebook event...

Please bring your boats and join us in having some fun RED NECK STYLE in Lake Minneola. There seems to be plenty of water this time!! We will have our floating stage for the entertainment. Rob Nichols, Patrick Gibson, Spayed Koolie, and DJ Ray Garcia will Dazzle us with Sound!! There will be a Boat Capt's Meeting for all on May 15th at 7PM. Free Red Neck Yacht Club T-Shirt for each Captain ( One per Boat) Drawing for Costa Sunglasses ect (sic)...

NOTE : The RNYC event is a boating event. The stages, dance floor, live music, and party happen in the middle of Lake Minneola. Unlike previous MBD boating events ( i.e. pub crawls ), there is no contingency once all available spots on the boats are filled. An RSVP to this event does not guarantee You a spot on one of the MBD boats, only a Captain can do that...so find a Captain and ask nicely.

Live Large!

All hands-Some of you will be first timers. If you have not shared your phone number with me, I cannot contact you. I do not have internet access on my phone so my communication is only by phone. If you want to tie up alongside with the best boating club in Florida gives us a call and we can rendezvous. In order to get your rank promotion I MUST meet you. I have a 17' Boston Whaler Newport with a red and white bootstripe and black bottom. I will be flying our club burgee and a Crazy Bastards flag. (Other Captains send a description of your vessel in order for the first-timers to find us- Robb, Casey, Ross, Ryan Deb and Mental Disorder,)

      Safety
      - Designated drivers
      - Clear swimmers before starting engine
      - Rafting of long chains of multiple boats is discouraged
      - Area in front of the floating stage to be kept clear of boats

      Enforcement
      - Boats should arrive early
      - $5 Ramp fee will be enforced
      - Lake Patrol to check boat equipment
      - Public decency enforced subject to complainant

      Logistics
      - Bikini contest at 3pm
      - Bathrooms at West Beach, Clermont Boat Ramp, and Waterfront Park
      - Clermont Boat Ramp and area West of ramp for vehicles with trailers only
      - Parking for vehicles w/o trailers is East of Clermont Boat Ramp to Waterfront Park

Aside from that, this year's event will likely end much earlier than previous years. The event is scheduled to end at 6pm.

Looking forward to seeing everyone Saturday.

I've never been to Lk Minneola area. Excited to check it out!!
Anyone know if I can launch from other lakes on what google maps makes look like a chain?? Lk Louisa, Susan, Minnehaha?? What about clearance heights on bridges, my boat is about 8ft out the water. I don't want to have to wait in line at ramp or have trouble parking.

    May 6, 2014

    • Robb E.

@Ryan, as a Captain, You will have a great time, but definitely plan to get there early ( before 10am ). Additionally, retrieval is all but impossible if You need to leave before sunset. If memory serves, the bridges all have decent clearance. Palatlakaha River Park also has a ramp on the South end of the Chain, just off Lk Louisa. Again, being early is going to be key.
