What we're about

Meetup is Gulf Coast Kayak's way of giving back to the community and environment by hosting large group outings to special destinations, estuary clean-up and habitat restoration projects, fishing workshops, group kayak and stand up paddleboard lessons, and SUP yoga sessions at either a greatly discounted price or FREE of charge.

How to RSVP for Events: Events are first-come, first-serve. If you are bringing guests please add them to your RSVP or have then join our Meetup Group and ask them to register for the event. If the event is full please use the wait-list option which provides a fair, automated method for members to potentially get in on an event once the maximum attendance is reached. Member requests for special accommodations after an event is full defeats the intent of using Meetup and creates unwanted time-consuming work and complications for our staff. The success and enjoyment of our Meetup events depend greatly on the understanding, patience and flexibility of all members!

Inclement Weather Policy: All events are subject to "weather permitting". If it is determined an event needs to be canceled due to unfavorable conditions, the event title will be updated to include "CANCELED" no later than one hour prior to the scheduled start time. Meetup does push out event reminders as well as updates to attendees, but sometimes this automated communication does not occur in a timely manner. Please always check the GCK Meetup page for the event status before departing from home on the day of the scheduled event to be certain.

*No Show/Late Cancel policy: Be considerate & refrain from being a "NO SHOW" (Not showing up & leaving your RSVP as "yes", or changing RSVP to a "no" within 2 hours of event & not communicating with organizer) or a "LATE CANCEL" (Cancelling within 24 hrs of event & not communicating with organizer). If you can't make it to something you've signed up for -- CHANGE YOUR RSVP ASAP & call/message organizer especially if it is within 2 hours of the event. If you have a history of “NO SHOW” &/or “LATE CANCEL” (we keep track of attendance on your profile), we will bump you to the wait list for future meetups in favor of those with a positive attendance history. If you make a habit out of no showing or late cancelling, we will remove you from our group.
