Please Join Me For Some Hardcore Exercise and Outdoor Activity At The Conestoga Trails Along The Susquehanna River In Holtwood PA . These River Hills Are Quite A Treasure In All Four Seasons.
THE PLAN: 15 Miles Out and Back!
We'll Start Out On The Kelley's Run Trail Where We'll See Pine Groves, Old Growth Forest With Lots Of Rhododendron, Icicle Covered Cliffs And Kelley's Run, A Gorgeous Stream That We'll Rock-Hop Across Several Times.
Once We Finish Kelley's Run, The Real Fun Begins! (I Love Hills! Once You Complete The Ascent, You'll Know The Thrill Of Flying Down The Other Side And Some Pretty Amazing Views).
Then It's Pretty Much Uphill From There All The Way To The Pinnacle Overlook... Then A Down-Up-Down To Tucquan Glenn. Where The Conestoga Trail Follows Into The Tucquan Glenn Trail Is Also Truly Gorgeous And The Stream Crossing Is Usually A Bit Tricky Except For The Dry Summer Months (Bring Extra Socks).
After That It's Some More Up-Down-Up Hiking Till We Go Down To Reed's Run Then Back Up To The House Rock Vista Overlook Where We'll Stop For Lunch and To Enjoy The Views.
When The Days Start Getting Longer We May Venture Further Down The Trails To Explore The Wind Caves.
For The Return, We May Re-Trace Our Steps Back To The Starting Point OR There Is An Alternate Trail That Goes Around The Rock Slide.
Kelley's Run Trail Is A Loop And Could Be Completed Or Retraced Back The Way We Came.
Pour Girls Afterwards Is Also Recommended :)
Hike Starting Location and Rally Point: We'll meet at The Holtwood Recreation Parking Area (GPS: 39.841216, -76.317070)
