On Wednesday, We're Well Past The Middle of the Work Week. We're Officially Over The Hump Toward The Weekend! What Better Way Is There To Enjoy Being Over The Hump Than By Actually Hiking Over The Hump? The Hump of Mt Misery That is. ;)

To That End, I'm Planning To Hike Valley Forge Park. If Anyone Would Like To Join Me For An Over The Hump Twilight Hike...Please Feel Free To Do So.

We Meet At 6:15 PM: I'll Be At Wilson Road and Yellow Springs Road (Go To Wilson Road On Yellow Springs Road 1/4 Mile Up From The Covered Bridge). Text/Call me at[masked] To Coordinate.

The Plan: I'll Be Hiking The Valley Forge Trails - Mt Miser and Mt Joy.

IMPORTANT NOTE: THE END OF THIS HIKE MAY GO TILL AROUND DARK! PLEASE BRING A HEADLAMP, FLASHLIGHT OR CELL PHONE WITH FLASHLIGHT APP JUST IN CASE!

Hike Rating Profile: 4C2K6-7

Pace: 4 = Fast 3-4 MPH

Terrain: C = Trails and Hills

Elev Gains: 2K = 2,000 Feet

<b style="font-size : 16px">Distance: 6-7 = Approx 6-7 Miles Total


Total Time: Approx 1.5 - 2 Hours

Hike Level: Moderate+ (Distance, Hills and Pace)

This hike is for INTERMEDIATE+ Hikers due to distance, hills and the pace (3.5 mph avg). Please note that whenever necessary I ALWAYS stop at various points along the way to let any slower hikers catch up whenever necessary. We leave no hikers behind! ;)

For those not familiar with Valley Forge Park and the trails surrounding the park...please be prepared for some hills and some rocky terrain on parts of the trails.

Sturdy shoes are recommended. Dress appropriately for weather conditions.

I may still hike during rain if it's warm enough. Thunderstorms will cancel hike (ON BAD WEATHER DAYS I WILL ALWAYS POST A HIKE STATUS IN COMMENTS AROUND 60-90 MINUTES PRIOR TO POSTED HIKE START TIME OR YOU CAN CALL/TEXT ME AT[masked] FOR AN UPDATE).

As always...PLEASE BRING WATER and other essential items you may need.

You may also want to consider bringing a hat, first aid kit, walking stick(s), field guides, binoculars, and a camera.

Dogs: Always Welcome (A Leash Is Recommended)

Note: Please add a comment if you do plan to bring along your pooch OR if you are ALLERGIC so that everyone is made aware in advance and can plan accordingly.

Arrival and Start Times: Please meet us at the scheduled starting time for QUICK meet and greet introductions, hike overview and then PROMPT departure.

Facilities: Bathrooms and Fountains Over By Mt Joy

As always, I want to make it clear that I do plan to lead my hikes always observing Safety First...but also with the intention that these hikes should be fun, enjoyable, relaxing and non-stressful social meetups...with a bit of a work out too.
