GPS ADDRESS 351 Gradyville Road, Newton Square, PA 19073
DOGS: yes on a leash
LEVEL: This is a moderate level hike due to some hills and the pace, so is NOT recommended for a beginner.
Join Fran as we hike the Ridley Creek State Park White Trail. Dogs on leashes are welcome as well. Please post if you are bringing your dog. Meet at 9:15am and we will leave promptly at 9:25am. We will meet in Ridley Creek State Park Parking Area #9 near the bathrooms and picnic tables. ***** Bathrooms are open at The Mansion but they are closed at lot #9 where we will meet. I think bathroom #17 along the White & Yellow Trails is open but I am not 100% sure.
TIME/DISTANCE: Depending on the number of people hiking and the pace, the White Trail should take about 2 hours to complete. This is about a 5 mile hike.
Dress appropriately for weather conditions. You may want to consider bringing any or all of these items: water, snacks, hat, first aid kit, walking stick, field guides, binoculars, and or a camera.
NOTICE: By attending an event you are agreeing that YOU ARE RESPONSIBLE FOR YOUR OWN SAFETY AT ALL TIMES. No member of the group EXCEPT YOURSELF can be held responsible for any damages, accidents, or liabilities incurred while hiking with us.
POST HIKE: Linda M has graciously offered to host a brunch/lunch at her house in Newtown Square, very close to the park, after the hike. We have done this for the last three years and everyone had a wonderful time. There is a separate posting for that event so please rsvp to that if you plan to attend. She will give directions at the hike to folks who are attending the event. Please note there are no dogs at that event. Remember to bring an extra pair of shoes if you plan to attend the brunch at Linda's so we do not dirty her floors. No need to get changed ( unless you want to) for Linda's event, hiking attire will be fine.
