  • to
  • Valley Green Inn

Valley Green Rd. @ WISSAHICKON (entrance Springfield Ave, Chestnut Hill & Wise's Mill Rd., Roxboro), Philadelphia, 19118/19128, PA (map)

    40.053299 -75.230400

  • Enter the Wissahickon Valley Park on Valley Green Rd from the east or Wises Mill Rd from the West and park on the west side of the Wissahickon Creek. Meet in front of Valley Green Inn
  • Join Chubster, my adventuresome Jack Russell Terrier and me on a trip through the park. Dogs are optional. Humans on their own are always welcome.

The walk plan: relatively level-gradual paths and trails on both sides of the Wissahickon Creek. Plan to keep your dog leashed, as the park can be a busy place on weekends, especially if the weather is nice.

Hike Starting Location and Rally Point:  Meet in front of Valley Green Inn.

Arrival and Start Times: Please meet us at the scheduled time for quick meet and greet introductions, walk overview and then prompt departure 10 minutes after the posted meetup time.

This walk is suitable for all skill levels. You do not need to have a dog to walk. You are welcome to bring your children, but we will not be on smooth trails only.

Please note that I will ALWAYS stop at various points along the way to let any slower walkers or dogs catch up whenever necessary.

Hike Preparation and What You Will Need To Bring:

    Walking shoes are recommended.

Dress appropriately for weather conditions...including wicking material, hats, etc.

PLEASE BRING WATER for you and your dog and snacks and other essential items you may need.

IMPORTANT NOTE: For those with Asthma, Allergies or Special Conditions...Please Bring Inhalers, Allergy Meds, Epi Pens and Anything Else That You Need! Please Let Me Know At The Start of The Hike.

    Weather Cancellation Policies:

    Rain Will Cancel This Hike.

NOTICE: By attending an event you are agreeing that YOU ARE RESPONSIBLE FOR YOUR OWN SAFETY AT ALL TIMES. No member of the group EXCEPT YOURSELF can be held responsible for any damages, accidents, or liabilities incurred while hiking/walking with us.

Safety First...But Let's Have Fun! As always, I want to make it clear that I do plan to lead my hikes/walks always observing Safety First...but also with the intention that these hikes/walks should be fun, enjoyable, relaxing and non-tressful social meetups.
