We are Hackney's first stop for Hispanic culture and language coaching!
We offer a variety of courses and conversation groups, on site and out and about, all over Hackney and surrounding areas.
We currently run conversation meetups in Stoke Newington, Newington Green and soon we'll be launching more in Dalston, Hackney Central and Victoria Park.
Our conversation meetups vary in topic and they might involve current affairs, Hispanic cultures (film, literature, art), or simply relaxed conversation about our everyday experiences. The tutor will work with you to establish your conversation goals — some students want to improve their accent, their pronunciation, or the use of grammar when speaking — and help you achieve them.
Our conversation groups are never larger than 5 students, in order to guarantee participation and attention. No minimum students required for a meetup to go ahead. Check each event for pricing as this varies according to number of students. Pricing: 1 student £20 per hour, 2 students £15 per hour, 3-5 students £10 per hour.
We offer group classes from our premises at the stunning Greenhouse N16, Newington Green. Come and learn in a suitable and comfortable learning environment, in courses devised and delivered by highly qualified coaches.
Our groups are never over 10 students large. We have classes of all levels, running every night, every day of the week.
There is a popular misconception: anyone can teach his or her native language. This couldn’t be further from the truth: teaching a language demands mastering a very specific set of skills, just as with any activity we wish to carry out in a proper way.
All our coaches are native speakers, are fully qualified to teach, and have experience and solid academic backgrounds.
Our groups (both the language classes and conversation meetups) are lead by our director Fernando, a qualified tutor, published writer, and active scholar, currently a lecturer at Birkbeck and Royal Holloway, University of London.
Fernando has been teaching Spanish privately and at university level since 2002. He is the author of two books in Spanish (more here and here) and holds a PhD in Latin American Studies. You can read some of his work in English here, here, and here.
OUR TEACHING PHILOSOPHY
Learn only with the best: get the best of your language-learning experience. (You can read more about what constitutes a great tutor here).
