IT'S ALAMO SPRINGS TIME

Haven't been to see Mike at Alamo Springs Cafe in a while, so let's go before it gets too warm and those annoying yuppies from Austin start showing up all the time. We'll start at my normal place, the TETCO/VALERO on 281N, between Borgfeld Rd and 1863. We'll ride around here and there and stop a couple of times on the way to lunch. Gas/rest stops are planned for Blanco and the Stage Coach near Fredericksburg. Then we'll ride around a little more on the way to the end at the Shade Tree about 3:00 P.M.

MEET: 8:30 A.M.

KSU:    8:45 A.M.  A.M.

ROUTE:  http://goo.gl/maps/ZGU0V

Click Here to read about our group so you can understand what we are all about.

*You pay your own gas, food, drinks, etc....

*Watch our meetup site or your email for changes to the ride.

*If you are operating a motorcycle, alcohol consumption is a bad idea. Besides the alcohol effect, it will actually dehydrate you more causing you to be further off  your game, even in winter.  We eat lunch and have several breaks. Other types of beverages are highly recommended.

THE LEGAL STUFF - Please read the ACCIDENT WAIVER AND RELEASE OF LIABILITY AGREEMENT by clicking on the capital letters.  Anyone who participates in a HCMR ride, including passengers, must agree to that waiver to to ride with us.  HCMR members have already agreed to this waiver as a condition of HCMR membership and as a condition of their participation in group rides.  Your passenger may not have.  All passengers must also agree in writing to release, discharge, and hold harmless, HCMR and its Organizers, Wings, Sweeps, and Mid line Leaders from any and all claims and/or lawsuits for any type of damages arising from any HCMR activity.  Now... go read the waiver by clicking on the capital letters in light blue type above.

Good ride today. Thank you to everyone who came along. Thanks Joseph for riding my wing and Raman for keeping track from the back again. It's a good thing we didn't get to Alamo Springs Café at 12:00, or we might still be there. I can tell the weather is getting better/warmer by the number of people who showed up for lunch at ASC.

Good ride. Avoid some of the county roads (pot holes, loose gravel, uneven pavement) in the future and this will be a dive star ride for sure.

I've been a member for 6 months or so...but have yet the time to go with y'all. I'm finally back from NOLA for a lil while and wanted to take a ride! And get to meet some people in person instead of just being on my phone.. Oh well...maybe next time.

The route is pretty simple. I changed some of it. I think we can stay together. We'll find out tomorrow.

With this many people going to Alamo Springs café, more than I have ever taken there, expect to be there for a while. They aren't a fast food place. I'm no longer sure of the end time at the Shade Tree. Might be later than 3:00 P.M.

I see a number of new members have signed up for this ride, which is great. You need to know my only firm rule. I leave on time, no exceptions. At 8:45 A.M. we roll. Don't be late or you will only see an empty parking lot.

I'm never late...I just make a fashionable entrance!!

I just moved the start times to earlier. It's not going to be cold and we might beat some of the crowd to Alamo Springs Café.

Mike....the early start is intruding on my weekend sleeping hours!!

      February 17, 2014

Just go to sleep 30 minutes earlier. Nothing lost.

It will be a great weekend, I have to work, so you know the weather will be excellent, so I can look out the window, while I teach about Real Estate. I will be thinking about you all, on a great ride, with terrific folks and those wonderful burgers . . .

How long is the ride and what's the stretch on fuel i only get about 70 miles before fuel light comes on

    February 10, 2014

    • Raman

70 miles is just about pushing it on this route.

      February 10, 2014

    • Mike A.

Cory, 2 gas stops on the way to lunch. Both less than 50 miles. The leg after lunch is also less than 50. You should not have a problem.

    I'm in.
