317 George St, Suite 210, New Brunswick, NJ
Emerging Scientists of NJ provides students with an opportunity to explore advanced laboratory science topics. Every ten weeks, this program begins a new unit. Past units have included: acid/base chemistry, forensic science, microbiology, marine biology, energy, cell biology, anatomy, meteorology and more.
While each unit covers a different specific topic, all units are designed to develop students’ skills in data collection, communication, lab safety, lab methods and proper use of lab equipment. Each week, students will engage in a hands on experiment which requires them to formulate a hypothesis, collect and analyze data, practice proper lab safety protocols and communicate their results. Students will be introduced to basic data analysis including graph making, basic excel use and developing conclusions.
