HI Boston is a hostel of Hostelling International USA (HI USA), a nonprofit member organization founded on an enduring belief in the power of travel to foster a deeper understanding of people, places and cultures for a more tolerant world. HI Boston organizes community educational programs focused on travel, cultural and the environment, alongside community engagement events.

Pint Sized Travel 101: Viajera Solter: Tanzania

Democracy Brewing

Join HI Boston at Democracy Brewing for the next installment in our Travel 101 workshop series, “Viajera Soltera: Tanzania” HI’s community engagement coordinator, Melanie Canales, will share informative anecdotes on her travels through Tanzania and Zanzibar, highlighting the why and how of traveling while Latinx. Join our conversation covering transport, accommodations, breaking the news to your mother, social etiquette, and building a travel network that reflects shifting cultural identities. Come share this special evening with us, and have the chance to meet others from across Boston as well as international guests to the hostel. This evening is FREE and open to the public. Participants will receive 1 free drink ticket complements of HI Boston to sample a brewery beer. However, space is limited so register early to reserve your spot.

Learn to Become a Community Facilitator with HI Boston

Interested in learning to become a better group facilitator, public speaker or community leader? HI Boston is hosting a FREE one day training on how to conduct facilitated community dialogue! The workshop will focus on learning dialogue tools and practicing facilitation techniques. Join us to hone your skills in leading group facilitation: --> Learn to better navigate difficult conversations --> Improve your public speaking skills --> Help create a safe space to explore biases & perceptions around pressing social and political issues --> Practice and receive feedback from professional instructors As a nonprofit educational association this new HI Boston workshop is FREE and open to anyone in the community. Join us for this all new program from HI Boston designed to introduce the concept of travel through hostelling to first timers. Step inside HI Boston and learn about why people hostel, and how you can get involved in our international network, meet others, and begin to change yourself and the world! During the program you will experience an evening in the life of HI Boston, meeting international guests, hearing stories about travel and hostelling, and learn how HI USA can open the door to travel for you!
