This group is convened by HIMSS (Healthcare Management Systems Society) a global voice, advisor and thought leader of health transformation through health information and technology with a unique breadth and depth of expertise and capabilities to improve the quality, safety, and efficiency of health, healthcare and care outcomes. HIMSS recognizes the importance of representation, and acknowledges that the contributions of women have been underrepresented. While women have made strides in the health information & technology field, even today healthcare leadership is still dominated by men — with women making up only 11 percent of hospital CEOs and 22 percent of executives on Fortune 500 healthcare companies, according to a RockHealth report. Through this meetup, we hope to foster a strong sense of community and to promote the strength of women as thought leaders & strategists in health information and technology. Each month HIMSS will feature industry thought leaders and innovators and provide professional resources to generate discussion, provide advice, advance careers and encourage mentoring. We hope you’ll join us.
Carrie Gladstone is founder of Stride Forward, where she works with startups to clarify their vision, innovate and find a path to success. A former Deloitte strategy and management consultant, Carrie has a track record of working with startups, scaleups and larger organizations to develop a market strategy, build teams and stakeholder alignment (internal, partners and customers), and make sure the strategy succeeds. Carrie began her work around health and aging after a personal experience with a loved one struggling to maintain independence despite chronic health conditions. Since then she has been focused on advancing innovation in health, aging and senior care — building the DC chapter for Aging2.0, leading a team to the finals of the Global Design Challenge at the Stanford Center for Longevity, and developing thought leadership.
