What is your expectation of this meetup?

Have fun with functional programming. Know the nearby enthusiasts, what they think, and how they apply the techniques to their daily problems.

What is your experience with programming?

Starting with doing scientific computation at college with C++ to a full-time web application developer in PHP, I have practised and enjoyed solving problems with programs in the Object-Oriented way. But I really like the tastes of functional programming after learning the basics of Clojure and Haskell. My favourite language is modern Perl, which is sometimes like a hybrid to me.

Why would you like to learn functional programming principles?

I think the functional programming principles offer insights, and very often push developers to think harder at their problems and tidy up their minds from the very beginning. I appreciate this taste.

I am a web application developer. I like working out problems, and sharing with others.
