The fine printTHERE WILL BE NO TRESPASSING INTO THE BUILDINGS OR UNDERGROUND TUNNELS!Under NO circumstances! The hospital buildings, floors, ceilings and stairwells are deteriorating and unsafe. The buildings and subterranean facilities are encased in hazardous materials (lead paint, asbestos, etc)

The structures are infested with pigeons, rodents, raccoons and other animals capable of transmitting serious diseases such as rabies and hantavirus pulmonary syndrome, leptospirosis and roundworm.

The State Park Police and Suffolk Country Police arrest and prosecute trespassers. We can not jeopardize our relationship with the NY Parks Department by breaking the law. We will not endangering our guest's safety.

Much of the historical value of these beautiful relics have been destroyed or stolen by trespassers, vandals and well-meaning curiosity seekers. We wish to preserve what remains of these historic landmarks.

DON'T EVEN ASK!There are many wonderful photographs of the building interiors, some dating before the sites were vandalized for your viewing pleasure online and at the Kings Park Heritage Museum.  Some photographs of the facility date from when it was still in full operation.

Is anyone car pooling from Brooklyn? The long public transportation route makes this trip otherwise impossible.

And I do know this, unfortunately a 3.5 hour commute by public transit makes this very exciting event much less appealing, especially considering the way back.
