COME JOIN US FOR A 35-40 MILE ROAD BIKE RIDE STARTING IN WOODSTOCK, NY AND CIRCLING THE ASHOKAN RESERVOIR WITH BEAUTIFUL VIEWS OF THE CATSKILLS!
Our route will start and end in Woodstock, NY and will take us around the Ashokan Reservoir on "mostly" low traveled country back roads and a 2+ mile segment of pedestrian foot/bike path pictured above. Our average riding pace last year was 12 mph. When we return to Woodstock we can grab some food and drinks at one of the great local eateries (including vegan options). There will also be the opportunity to check out the KTD Tibetan Buddhist Bookstore https://kagyu.org/ or even do a short hike up to Overlook Mountain Hotel Ruins and Firetower!
WHERE TO MEET:
FREE Municipal Parking area on the LEFT (heading north) off Rock City Rd just before Lotus Fine Art & Design
DISTANCE: Approximately 35-40 miles
ESTIMATED BIKE TIME: 3-4 hours?
PACE: 12+ mph
• Road Bike
• Bicycle Helmet
• Clear eye Protection (safety glasses - for bugs, dirt, etc.)
• Related maps, a compass or GPS, Water, Snacks, First Aid, etc.
• Bike Pump
• Tire Patch Kit and/or Spare Tube
PLEASE INSPECT YOUR BIKE PRIOR TO ARRIVAL TO INSURE THE FOLLOWING:
• Proper Tire Inflation
• Lubricated chain
• Properly Shifting gears
• Functional Brakes that don't rub rim or tire when released.

You are responsible to research the event, know the area, and bring the proper gear. When applicable, you should review topographic maps and trail features carefully. Understanding the topography of a hike is key to knowing where you are, where you're going, and how to get back.
The NY Hiking & Outdoor Adventure Group does not provide liability insurance for the protection of individuals who may participate in any of the events planned by the Organizer or Assistant Organizers.
