What we're about

This weekly women's circle gives members the experience of connecting and being supported by others who share their depth, sensitivity, and empathy. This environment provides a rich setting for personal growth and authentic connection with others who relate to their experience. Additionally, the group aims to provide tools to help members understand and cope with their sensitivity and reframe it as the gift that it is. The group is limited to women ages 20-30. To see if you may be highly sensitive, take the self-test at http://hsperson.com/test/ . The summer sessions will begin July 11, 2019. All summer members must confirm their spot in the group by June 25th, 2019, so please contact me if you'd like to join us.

Group Goals:

• Get support from other highly sensitive people (HSPs)

• Understand your sensitivity

• Loosen the reigns on perfectionism

• Learn tools to manage overwhelm

• Reduce indecisiveness

• Set boundaries and learn to say no

• Live more authentically

• Harness the gifts of sensitivity

When/Where/Fee/Group Size: Group sessions are held on Thursdays from 6:00 pm - 7:30 pm and costs $40. The group meets in my office at 800 Garden Street at the corner of De La Guerra and is capped at 8 members. The group will meet for eight consecutive weeks.

How Do I Join? Joining the group is a two-part process. The first step is a short call where I explain more about the group and answer any questions. Second, we set up a 15-20 minute in-person meeting to get a sense of some of your personal goals for the group and make sure that the group continues to feel like a fit. The call and initial one-on-one meeting are both free. If you'd like to set up an initial call, please call me at (805) 364-2973 or email me at tianaleedsmft@gmail.com by June 25th.

What does it mean to be a Highly Sensitive Person (HSP)? HSP is a personality trait found in approximately 20% of people characterized by a finely attuned nervous system. It is hereditary and it is neither a negative quality nor a disorder. High sensitivity creates greater capacity for empathy, a heightened awareness of one's surroundings and environment (such as sounds, light, and scents), and a propensity for processing information on a deeper level. In short, if you are highly sensitive you likely find that you feel things more intensely than others do. Being highly sensitive does carry with it inherent challenges, especially in an increasingly overwhelming and fast-paced world. Working with someone who has training in the trait of high sensitivity to learn tools to cope can be a powerful step in harnessing the gifts of your sensitivity.

About Tiana: Tiana Leeds, LMFT#99393 is a highly sensitive therapist who specializes in the trait of high sensitivity (HSP) and has completed an advanced HSP training program with Dr. Elaine Aron, the premier psychologist studying this trait.
