A two-day bandwidth optimisation hackathon for the MoD ISS Innovation team.
The Ministry of Defence is on a mission to create an Intelligent Communication Bus (ICB) capable of distilling contextual information from a myriad of data sources at the MoD Bandwidth Hack: Intelligent Communications Bus.
A multi-disciplined range of SME’s in AI, ML, Programming in AI, (and more) in industry and academia will have 48 hours to take on the challenge of creating an ICB.
The MoD faces unique challenges both within the Enterprise network and equally on the Edge as a result of processing vast amounts of data through a diverse array of workflows. The exchange of data throughout MoD’s network, especially on the periphery, would be further strained with the planned consumption of emerging technologies such as Internet of Things (IoT), Blockchain, Artificial Intelligence (AI), Augmented Reality (AR), etc. Therefore, MOD needs to create an optimised but intelligent method through the use of AI to maximise the efficiency of bandwidths supplied through the existing bearers of opportunity.
