We'll be getting started an hour earlier than normal to partner with the California Department of Public Health (CDPH) in the soft launch of their new open data portal!
The goal of the soft launch is to bring together CDPH state and local data stewards, civic technologists, and developers together to collaboratively ideate, co-create, and deploy new apps and solutions to improve our communities and the governments that serve them through open data.
CDPH is one of the first state agencies in California to launch an open data portal. This is a high visibility effort that will transform how public health agencies engage with citizens. The initiative will pave the road for other departments within the Health and Human Services Agency who will soon contribute their datasets to the open data portal.
Here's our modified agenda for the evening:
5:00 p.m. // CDPH Open Data Portal Soft Launch + Activities
7:30 p.m. // Core Team Announcements
7:45 p.m. // Standups & Pitches
8:00 p.m. // Project Breakout Sessions
8:45 p.m. // Q&A and Closing
If you can't make it right at 5 p.m., no worries. Drop-in anytime.
Check out the current status of our projects at Code4Sac.org/projects or bring your own civic tech project and pitch it to the room.
