Next week, the Hacker News Seattle Meetup returns for #20! This time, lets get... educational! Tuesday, June 4th at 6pm, we'll be at Northeastern University (in Seattle!)'s campus in South Lake Union.
Our speaker this month is Mitch Stein. As the head of Human Interface Technologies at Apple in the early 90s, he coined the term "user experience" when trying to explain to executives what Apple should be focusing on. He's flying up from the Bay Area (two non-Seattle speakers in a row!) to come talk to us and meet people in the Seattle tech community. If you're interested in meeting with him while he's here, email me ([masked]) and I'll connect you with him.
This event definitely wouldn't happen without our Premier Sponsor, Outlook.com (http://www.outlook.com). Microsoft has launched Outlook.com as their new, free email service and they’re serious about making it the best in the world, and that starts with getting input from users like members of the Hacker News Seattle community. In addition to providing a few other surprises, they're responsible for improving the quality of food at the event!
Thanks to Bit Titan (http://www.bittitan.com), who provides cloud solutions that simplify and improve IT activities for businesses, governments, healthcare providers, and telecoms. Its globally recognized products include MigrationWiz, SmtpLogic and UserActivation.
And big thanks to SEOmoz (http://www.seomoz.org) who develops SEO software, provides a robust link intelligence API, and hosts the web's most vibrant SEO community. They love supporting local startup events, and they're also always on the lookout for engineers! Be sure to mention the Hacker News meetup if you decide to apply.
Invite your friends, invite your coworkers, just please don't invite your dogs (Rover.com guys... I'm looking at you!).
See you all next week!
