Come hear presentations from early stage startups, while drinking beer, eating pizza and meeting other interesting people!

The Mission of this group is to facilitate a connection between the two core personas needed to create a successful technology startup: the Hacker and the Hustler. We recognize this probably won't happen the first night, so we are here to encourage those early stage conversations in a friendly social environment.

6:00 - Food, drinks and socializing. Food and Drinks sponsored by local startup advisory firm Prepare 4 VC (www.prepare4VC.com)

6:30 - Presenter 1: Harry Liu discussing digital health idea.

SYNOPSIS: As the population ages, the demand for senior care is rapidly increasing. However, most seniors can't afford to live in a nursing home for more than a few years, and living in an assisted living facility also costs about $50k a year. Home-based senior care is, therefore, the only choice for many seniors, with the market reaching about $30 billion a year. But the current market is extremely fragmented, with the largest provider accounting for <1% of the total. There is an efficiency gain by creating a digital marketplace to allow families to find providers at a much lower cost. Two existing digital marketplaces are far from reaching the network effect. Figuring out how to build such a marketplace successfully represents a huge business opportunity. I am looking forward to discussing the idea with the group.

6:50 - Presenter 2: Mac Cameron, founder and president of CoCreateX.

SYNOPSIS: CoCreateX is a community of people who help each other and say thank you. We’ve set out to track every thank you on the internet in order to accredit people’s skills and empower their passions. We are life-long learners with a shared desire to create and to help others do the same. Whether your goal is to become an accomplished product designer, create a work of art, learn a new skill, or simply interact with and learn from other creators, you’ll find inspiration, support, and a sense of community here. We’re just making it easier to connect, give back, and find that creative outlet we’ve all been looking for.

7:10 - Presenter 3: Brad Glisson presenting on Thoughtblox.

SYNOPSIS: Thoughtblox is a web platform where large-scale organizations and communities create "noise-cancelling" knowledge networks which improve shared information’s context, durability, and flow. Our mission is to empower groups to innovate faster with customized spaces to grow organizational knowledge that won't get lost in email, chat, or folders.

7:30 - Lightning Talks, Introductions and Networking. CLEANUP!

8:00 - Everyone out.
