Discuss Startup Ideas and Network (Free Beer & Pizza)

Location image of event venue

Come hear presentations from early stage startups, while drinking beer, eating pizza and meeting other interesting people!

The Mission of this group is to facilitate a connection between the two core personas needed to create a successful technology startup: the Hacker and the Hustler. We recognize this probably won't happen the first night, so we are here to encourage those early stage conversations in a friendly social environment.

5:30 - Food, drinks and socializing. Food and Drinks sponsored by local startup advisory firm Prepare 4 VC (www.prepare4VC.com)

6:00 - Presenter 1: Get Super-Wellness - Presented by Paul D. Michaels

SYNOPSIS: Full time employed Americans work 9.4 hours a day which is more than time spent sleeping (6.8 hours) or exercising (17 minutes) These priorities exact a cost on one’s quality of life and affect your company's bottom line. How does a corporate culture span the gap between work and wellness? Conventional solutions have delivered inconsistent results. Get Super-Wellness, is a think-tank that creates unique solutions for each client based on the philosophy of synchronicity; weaving healthy habits into the fabric of our daily lives at work and beyond.

6:30 - Presenter 2: Jake Tamarkin, Co-Founder & CEO presenting Everyday Life, a life insurance startup.

SYNOPSIS: The life insurance industry has failed to keep up with increasingly sophisticated consumers. Fixing this could drive $50B in annual revenue. Everyday Life is reforming the industry as the first life insurance provider fully dedicated to the fiduciary standard of putting clients' interests first with a ground-breaking business model that builds on the latest advancements in digital advice, predictive model-based underwriting and peer-to-peer empowerment.

7:00 - Presenter 3: Mike Pappas presenting Modulate.

SYNOPSIS: Modulate is using machine learning to unlock your voice. Design the perfect voice for your need, then apply that "voice skin" to sound however you desired when you speak in a gaming chat, conference call, or any other digital conversation. You can simply swap your gender, or go so far as to sound like a unique character or even something inhuman like a goblin - the limit, instead of your vocal chords, is now nothing less than your imagination. We're currently sharing our private beta with early customers (primarily in the gaming space) and working on improving the quality before we release publicly in the fall.

7:30 - Lightning Talks, Introductions and Networking. CLEANUP!

**During lightning talks, anyone who wants to come up and say something has 30 seconds of floor time to say whatever they want.**

8:00 - Everybody out!
