Hack Your Way into SXSW Eco!

Join us for the SXSW Eco Hackathon, presented by the U.S. Department of Energy and help create new tools for energy-efficient choices. As part of the Energy Data Initiative, you can help code usable tools using the vast data collections of the Department of Energy and other public data sources. In under 24 hours, teams of volunteer hackers and coders will create new applications to help consumers, businesses, and non-profits make smarter energy sources. This event is open to the public, sign up details to follow. For questions please email [address removed]

Technology, data, and entrepreneurs can help in our continuing transition toward a clean, secure, and affordable energy future. To accelerate the transition to a clean energy economy, empower consumers to make informed energy choices, and harness American ingenuity, the Obama Administration launched the Energy Data Initiative in 2012 to “liberate” government data and voluntarily-contributed non-government data as fuel to spur entrepreneurship, create value and create jobs.
