Want to win a trip to Vienna? Want to hack the news? Free on March 3 & 4? Yes? Read on.
Calling Hacks/Hackers - The Walkley Foundation (http://www.walkleys.com/editorslab/), in collaboration with the Global Editors Network (http://www.globaleditorsnetwork.org/editorslab/) (GEN), are inviting three (3) lucky people to participate as team Hacks/Hackers SYD in the first Editors Lab taking place in Australia on March[masked] at Google’s Sydney offices. Teams are made up of one journalist (hack), developer (hacker), and designer - with other teams represented by some of Australia’s largest media organisations.
For two days of your time, you have the chance to win an all-expenses-paid trip to Vienna to compete against other winning Editors Lab teams from other countries during the Editors Lab Final — the World Cup of Newsroom Innovation, held during the GEN Summit 2016 in June (http://www.gensummit2016.org/).
While anyone is welcome to enter as a freelance team, we’re inviting you to apply to join our team, and fly the Hacks/Hackers SYD flag (and win, of course.) For more information on the event (http://www.walkleys.com/editorslab/), please check out the Editors Lab page over @ The Walkley Foundation.
So, if you think you’ve got what it takes to enter (and win) as a journalist, developer or designer, please get in touch and the Hacks/Hackers SYD team, and let us know in less than 150 words why you think you’re the right person for our team!
There’s an information pre-event night to be held @ Google’s offices on Wednesday 3rd Feb, if you want to come along and find out more - please let Kate Golden ([masked]) know from The Walkley Foundation and she’ll get your name on the door (how fancy).
RSVPing for this event does not guarantee your participation or entry, please ensure you either:
• Get in touch with us to join our team (and we'll match you up with others)
• Email Kate Golden ([masked]) to form your own team.
