Juliana Ruhfus (@julianaruhfus (https://twitter.com/julianaruhfus)), senior investigative reporter for Al Jazeera English’s “People & Power” Juliana has been experimenting with turning her films into interactive projects to create immersive gamified real news experiences. In doing so, she reaches new and younger audiences who are not drawn to visiting traditional broadcast news websites. She will talk about her latest project (https://www.journalism.co.uk/news/al-jazeera-s-latest-newsgame-takes-players-inside-the-cyber-conflict-in-syria/s2/a679919/) "#Hacked – Syria’s Electronic Armies" - an investigation where the user is asked to explore the Syrian cyberwar which unfolded alongside the ground war.
