Lets play a long board game. I'm thinking of games like Diplomacy, Game of Thrones, Twilight Imperium and Eclipse. I am up for any. Please let us know what game you would like to play in the comments below.

I played Luna, Hanabi, Kakerlakenpoker, and Race for the Galaxy. Thanks for the games!

looks like I can't stay for an "epicly long" game, just a "pretty long" game. I would love to play Genoa, Trajan or something similar to that length, but no worries if that doesn't work out :)

I'm going to try to resurface and bring a few games.

The longest game I own is Le Have which is about 3 hours long with 3 players who are familiar. With newer players it can go a lot longer. Any interest?

I can bring a couple of long games
    - Andean Abyss which is about the dirty wars in Columbia in the 1990s (about 8 hours and plays up to 4). The game designer is a local and works for the CIA in counter terrorism.
    - A Distant Plain by the same designer as AA about the current war in Afghanistan (about 8 hours and plays up to 4).
    - Virgin Queen which is about the political, religious, and military struggle between the 6 major European powers during the Elizabethan era (at least 8 hours and plays up to 6). http://www.boardgamegeek.com/boardgame/91080/andean-abyss

Anyone have the Battlestar game? Could that be an option?

    February 5, 2014

    • Zane

      Didn't we just play that?

      February 5, 2014

    • Kevin A.

Yes, I own it. I'll bring it just in case.

My AF friends might be interested in Diplomacy. I'll ask them.

If we play diplomacy I'm sure we can get Jim to play if he is available

My vague, uninformed preference would be to learn Eclipse or Civilization.

I think we should play Candyland or Chutes and Ladders!

    Here are some options:

    Duel of Ages
    Starcraft: The Board Game
    Die Macher
    Earth Reborn (2-player game)
    Twilight Struggle (2-player game)

Die Macher caught the attention of this Germanophile. We could have a German themed game event... Hansa Teutonica, Funkenschlag, that game, usw.

I want to play any of these

A Diplomacy event would be great, on the day or another one. Other suggestions: "Shogun": Up to 5 player,7+hrs, lots of dice rolling. I have it and can teach. "Advanced Civilization" the board game which inspired the computer game: Up to 8 players, 7+hrs, LOTS of player interaction. I can bring a copy and can teach. Other possibilities: Circus Maximus and "Civilization The Boardgame".
