Mountainbike Lake Natoma! D12

  • Sutter St. Light Rail Station

990 Sutter St., Folsom, CA (map)

    38.675484 -121.180210

  • I'll be getting off the train with my titanium 29er.
  • Ride Summary
Terrain: Rolling hills with a couple of hard (but short) climbs.
    Distance: 12 Miles
    Speed: 8 - 14 mph
    Rider Level: D12 (Intermediate) <--LOOK!
    Sweep: Yes

Join us for the 12 mile dirt loop around Lake Natoma. This ride is intended for people who can sustain 10 MPH or more on dirt. We tend to go kinda' fast. It should take no more than 2 hours. If you cannot maintain this pace, you are not being fair to the rest of the riders.

We leave the Lightrail Station promptly at 1:10, so if you're late, you're going to miss us! If you're just a little late, we usually regroup at the Aquatic Center at 1:35.

    As always, helmets are required.

This event starts at the light rail station in the hope that you'll save gas, money and the environment by taking the train. The train costs $2.50 (cheaper than you can drive) and schedules can be seen here... Just make sure your train says "Folsom" on it.

An RSVP is a Social Commitment. Your Hosts and Organizers go to great lengths and often personal expense to make these events fun and enjoyable for you. If you are unable to show up, please update your RSVP a minimum of 2 hours before the start time of the event.

Hi Marsh, I'll show up but now that I've read more details I'm iffy about the pace. I tend not to pay attention to my speed but looking on Strava I average anywhere from 7 to 12+ depending on the terrain (Browns to NY Creek I do closer to 7). We can talk at the meetup location and decide if it's better I join or do my own ride. --Phil

Where are you riding? Isn't a lot of it under water?

We'll stay on the singletrack as much as possible. Hit the pavement when we must.
