What we're about

If you are interested in history and culture and enjoy walking, then this group is for you. Hampshire and its surrounding counties are full of amazing places which are rich in history. Some of them are hidden away on your doorstep! I want to connect you to the fascinating people, places and events from the past. I am a trained walk leader with a passion for history and landscape and have led walks for many years. I have an MA in Cultural Heritage and Resource Management from the University of Winchester as well as a BA (Hons) in Art, Design and Media

Walks will vary in length from 1 mile upwards and take place in both urban and rural environments. I will make the walks as interactive as possible to enable you to really connect with the landscape and sense of place.

All walks are £7.50 which includes a PayPal fee and must be paid for in advance online. Sign up as usual and the system automatically takes you through to pay. No worries if you do not have a PayPal account as you can pay as a guest with a debit or credit card. Afterwards I will offer attendees the opportunity to have refreshments such as afternoon tea, drinks or a meal. This gives you the chance to discuss the walk and make new friends. Walks will take place in Hampshire and the bordering counties of Wiltshire, Berkshire and Surrey. This group is open to all aged 18+.

Terms and conditions- Walking is a very low risk activity. I advise that you wear appropriate footwear and clothing attire when attending. Please bring some food and drink, even if the walk includes a pub or café break. If you have an ongoing health issue, you will need to let the walk leader know so they can assess your fitness to walk. For your own and others' safety please listen to and follow the instructions of the walk leader. Though walking is inherently one of the safest outdoor activities, no activity is completely without risk and it is your responsibility to behave sensibly and to minimise the potential for accidents to occur. By joining this meet up you agree to abide by these terms and conditions.
