What we're about
This group has been around since January 2013 (I think ....) and it has gone through one or two incarnations since then.
By 2017 it had lost its interest in wildlife (more's the pity, noone wanted to step up to carrying that on) and has become a group for beginners and intermediates, interested equally in photography and in socialising. It has turned out to be a really friendly, sociable and inclusive one. The kind of event we now put on is more the 'go-to-NT-places-and-snap-whatever-comes-our-way' type of experience.
In 2018 I personally have taken a back seat and I am proud to say that others almost as a collective have stepped in - more people bring all sorts of events to the table (thats you!) and I am intrigued as to how it will grow this year.
My own interests lie with landscape photography and whilst I will continue to put landscape events onto the schedule, the groups interests lie mostly elsewhere. Consequently I have started a second group for landscapes and fully expect it to attract enthusiasts - individuals who are a little more serious about photography and a little more advanced too.
Meanwhile this group remains highly sociable, and a group for beginners and intermediates. If you are indeed a beginner, do come along, it really isn't a group for big cameras and white lenses (as much as there are some of those around!) its for sociable people who like being outside. As long as you have something in your hand which resembles a camera, you're in!
