What we're about

A new vibrant group started for those in their 20's and 30's, to meet like minded people, get out the house, make new friends and have some fun at the weekends.

This is a group for anyone interested in hiking, rock climbing, kayaking, windsurfing, bouldering, etc. All skill levels are welcome. I started this group to meet other outdoor enthusiasts who find that their weekends can get a little boring at times. So if that's you and you like to have a fun packed weekend? Be sure to join the group :-)

This group will aim to hold regular weekend events, mainly in the warmer months, consisting of the above type activities. They will always be fun and will get you as engaged as possible during the day. We won't just be going on standard 'walks' in the country.

I'm always up for new ideas and activities, so if you have any suggestions, be sure to send them my way.

Looking forward to exploring the outdoors both on land and on the water.

GOWER COASTAL CLIMBING (South Wales)

Winchester

Hey guys It's the Gower coastal climbing weekend. A group of us went last year and had an amazing time. One of the most beautiful places I've ever climbed, the views are spectacular. Looking at traveling up Friday late afternoon and back home Sunday late afternoon. https://www.gowerholidays.com/things-to-do-see/beaches/rhossili-bay/ I'm going with a couple of friends (we all climb at Red Spider) and if you fancy joining us then feel free to come along. You'll need to have a climbing harness, shoes, but that's it if it's all you have. *** NEW MEMBERS - people that are new to the group need to pay £10 (one-off payment) this is to be able to borrow the groups equipment (even if you have your own stuff) and helps pay for the wear and tear on it. The weekend will be sport climbing. If you have only climbed in-door then this event is great at getting a feel for real rock. We are camping at : http://www.pittoncross.co.uk £8 per night, per person. Bookable online. **** If you want to join us, sign up to the event, then send me a message or let me know your email and we can discus your skill level and transport arrangements before you book the campsite. ***** Now for the boooring part: NB: .Participation statement I draw your attention to the fact that climbing is an activity with a danger of personal injury or death. You should be aware of and accept these risks and be responsible for your own actions and involvement. Please note that every person participating should be aware of (and accept) that those members perceived as ‘in charge’ or leading the event are not necessarily qualified, do not need to be qualified, and are not regarded by Meetup.com, or themselves as ‘technical experts’ but are amateur climbers with some experience and who are happy to impart their knowledge. Any advice given should be considered with this in mind by the recipient.

Some you can swim in as well. Stay the night in the local area: camping. Sunday: Set up some top ropes around the beach area (suitable for beginners on outdoor rocks. You will need some experience and have your own harness and rock shoes. Sunday afternoon: Drive to Ilfracombe and explore the local area, with the highlight being Wild camping on top of the 'the sleeping elephant' (details below) which is a large hill with spectacular views across the harbour and south Wales. https://www.southwestcoastpath.org.uk/walksdb/104/ For this wild camping you will need a sleeping bag and floor mat, you do not need a tent on that night. Monday: We will go back in time to the Victorian era, through a tunnel in a cliff to the beautiful sea-filled swimming pool. Cardigan bay Paddle board weekend

Adventure Beyond

Cardigan Bay is one of two important locations off the British coast for Bottlenose Dolphins. These majestic animals are what we hope to see as we glide across the bay on stand up boards. The plan is to travel up Friday to a designated camping site, set up camp and find a nice pub to chill out for the evening. Saturday: up early and out for a long day on the water in search of dolphins. The evening plan would be to find a spot, make a camp fire, bbq and chill. Sunday: pack up camp then take a walk and enjoy the stunning scenery before lunch then set off on the journey home. *******update******** The hire for SUP boards, paddles and life jackets will be done through adventure beyond which is a local adventure company please see link. They have agreed to hire the boards for £30 each per day which includes life jacket. https://adventurebeyond.co.uk/contact-us.html Camping is on a farmers field just outside the village of Moylgrove. This site is basic and is nothing more than a field, toilets and 2 showers (which have a small charge to use). The camping is £5 per person per night which is a bargain. At this stage we need to pay £10 deposit to secure site and boards rest to be paid onsite. Please let me know how people want to pay deposit I’m happy to send bank details or Paypal.
