What we're about

Notice: Due to my inability to recruit more hike leaders and the fact that I will be in Colorado for 2 months, this group is on hold until further notice. Over the summer, I will give thought to how to rejuvenate it. Please feel free to send ideas my way via the Meetup message system.

Thank you,

Fun, weekly moderate hikes for women and woman's best friend. This group is for dog-friendly-dogs who go on or off-leash. A wonderful chance to commune with nature and make new friends. We do hike for exercise, so these outings are more than just a stroll in the woods. More challenging hikes will have that warning, so please be sure you have the endurance & strength for some of the longer & more challenging hikes before signing up. If you don't exercise on a regular basis, these hikes might be too much for you. Please consider your limitations before heading out on a hike you're not up for.

Hikes are limited to small groups & their dogs, as to not overwhelm the trails.

PLEASE NOTE: Your dog MUST be well-socialized and have a solid track record and history of doing well and playing with other dogs - at dog parks, on AND off leash, etc. This is for the safety and well-being of the group. Dogs are dogs and are masterful energy readers and tend to sense if another dog is aggressive, not well socialized or skittish and will react accordingly.

If you're dog has behavior issues, is aggressive, fearful, anxious, doesn't like dogs or is skittish with other dogs (due to a previous incident or trauma), this group IS NOT for you.

If you live too far from Asheville, you will not be approved. We start hikes early in the mornings usually, and will not risk having to wait for people driving from far away areas to arrive.
